African-American Studies
The African-American Studies MA program is designed to provide graduate-level training in African-American studies to scholars, teachers, and professionals whose career or professional needs may be furthered or served by intensive scholarly engagement.
American Studies
The MA program in American Studies is housed in the Center for the Study of Ethnicity and Race at Columbia University.
Anthropology MA
The Department of Anthropology offers two free-standing MA programs: the MA in Sociocultural Anthropology, and the MA in Museum Anthropology.

Art History and Archaeology, MA
The Department of Art History and Archaeology offers programs of instruction in the history, theory, and criticism of art and archaeology. These programs are intended to prepare students for careers in scholarship and teaching and in curatorial work and museum administration, as well as for independent research and critical writing.
International and World History
(MA/MSc, with London School of Economics)
Full-Time in New York (Year 1) and London (Year 2): Free-Standing MA (housed in the Department of History, Graduate School of Arts and Sciences) and MSc (housed in the Department of International History, London School of Economics)
English Literature
The Department of English and Comparative Literature has played a significant role in the history of literary study in the United States and abroad since its inception. With a large faculty of renowned scholars and dedicated teachers, the department offers a wide range of courses in traditional and emerging fields of literary and cultural study.
